Resolution of a Vector

  • Resolution is the process of breaking a single vector (d) into its components: Δx and Δy.
  • If Δx and Δy are the components along the x and y directions, then you can find them using the equations: 

 Change of x equals d times the cosine of theta; change of y equals d times the sine of theta
